Joyful Harmony

When I woke up this morning and reached for my tablet to check my email, I was greeted by an email from Hawaii International Child advocating for six amazing children waiting for forever families in China. As I scrolled through, I noticed two little girls who had Down Syndrome and realized that I haven't advocated for any children with it before.
So I decided to share joyful little Harmony with you!

Look at that smile! A radiant inner joy just seems to shine through her. Imagine having this little gem in your family!

Her description is fairly short, although interested families can contact Hawaii International Child for more information on her.
Here's what her description says about her:

"Harmony is an adorable little one who turned 3 in April! She came to the orphanage when she was about 6 months old, and was diagnosed with Down syndrome. Harmony has no known heart or other health issues. She is receiving speech therapy, and her teachers are very happy with her progress. Harmony's fine motor skills are very good, as are her gross motor skills. She is very happy, very social, and loves to receive hugs! Harmony is so ready to have a mom and dad to love her!"

Somewhere in the world there is a family which Harmony will fit into like a puzzle piece. I'm praying that she can join them forever very soon!

Quick note:
In case any of you were wondering, I have been "keeping my eye" on the children I've posted about in the past. If I find that any of them have a family coming for them, I will be sure to update my post about them and share the good news with all of you! :)

Fantastic Freddie

Freddie is such a sweet, outgoing little guy who is ready for a forever family to take him home! This darling little boy lives in Ethiopia and is six years old. He has been on the Ethiopia waiting child list for "quite some time" already.

Like Finn, Freddie needs a family who can be patient with him and lovingly encourage him and get him the help he needs medically.

His special needs are

-cerebral palsy,
 -porencephalic cyst
-total corpus callosum agenesis,
-optic nerve hypoplasia.

His description tells us that  a Storyteller Missions team visited "Freddie" in mid-late 2014 and shared this:
"Freddie loves to smile and laugh! Whenever I would begin massaging his legs, he would begin to sing by opening his mouth and going 'Oooh, oooh.' It would make everyone laugh. He is also very ticklish and laughs and laughs when you rub his back just right. I also played music for him and he would turn his head towards the music and listen intently. Freddie is a sweet boy and loves to cuddle in laps."

Please keep Freddie and his future family in your prayers! This little guy is really ready to be a son, and I know somewhere out there, there is a mom and dad who are waiting to bring him home, whether they know it or not.

Freddie is listed with America World Adoption.

Any family who would like more information about "Freddie" and/or how to begin the process to adopt him into your family should contact their Ethiopia staff at Ethiopia@awaa.org or call 800-429-3369.

"Lucky" Finn

Update from August 2015: Sweet Finn has a family working to bring him home!

I have a treat for you today!

Isn't he darling? Those little arms!
"Finn" is a sweet five-month old boy who lives in Ethiopia and is in need of a loving forever family.
He needs a family who can love him for who he is, medical needs and all, and get him the medical care he needs.
His description states his needs below:
  • Congenital ptosis (eye lids can't open/always closed) - It is recommended that he receive Oculoplastic surgery. It is not clear in his information how well his vision has developed. Our transition home doctor noted "when his eye lids are opened he appears to have a clear cornea, we are able to see the internal structures of the eye, like the retina."
  • Congenital syphilis
  • Positive HIV antibody, DNA PCR test for HIV turned out to be undetectable

This darling little boy is listed with America World Adoption. For information on Finn and how to begin the process to bring him into your family, email their Ethiopia staff at  Ethiopia@awaa.org or call 800-429-3369.

Please join me in praying for the family God has planned for Finn to find him soon and that Finn would be protected and loved while he waits!
