Meet Ben!

Introducing...Ben!

11070740_919216584779321_1692635537207673680_n
He looks like he's a goofball who would keep his family laughing!

His description reads
"Ben will turn 14 at the end of June, and he is hoping for a forever family. Ben was already eight when he came into the orphanage. His file does not shed light on his early years, but it does note that Ben’s physical and mental development was normal. It also mentions that the orphanage staff found Ben to be very handsome! Ben’s only special need is that he is Hepatitis B positive."
Can we stop there for a second? In just a few months, he will be 14. And at that age he can no longer be adopted? What!? I know a lot of my friends who are reading this are somewhere around that age. I will be 15 soon. In China, if I didn't have a family now, there would no longer be any hope for one. How heartbreaking!

More information about Ben says

"Ben has been living in a foster family within the orphanage compound, experiencing life with a foster mother and father, as well as foster brothers and sisters. Ben is outgoing and seems thrive as part of a group."

I don't think I need to read his description to know he is outgoing! Just look at the above picture again!
"Bay Area Adoption Services has a partnership with Ben’s orphanage, and BAAS’s China Program Coordinator has met Ben on several occasions. She describes Ben as a friendly and well-adjusted boy who speaks clearly and fluently. Ben is said to be hard-working, polite and thoughtful, and to get along well with teachers, friends and his foster family. Ben likes sports and music. He has a great singing voice! Ben also enjoys school and has completed fourth grade. Videos of Ben are available."

There has to be a family out there for him somewhere!
Let's keep him in our prayers and share his story so his family can find him before he ages out.
To learn more about him, click here to view his profile on No Hands But Ours.

More important info:
The orphanage fee for Ben is waived. Please contact BAAS for more information.
BAAS is ready to help a family expedite Ben’s adoption, but it is important to note that he is on the shared list and can be adopted by a family working with any agency.

Praying for his forever family to step forward soon,

Beautiful Yayra~Waiting for a Sponsor

picture via the Compassion site
Update 4/7/15: Yayra has been sponsored by Izabella  from Minnesota!

This sweet little five year old is Yayra! Isn't she beautiful? <3 Yayra lives in Togo, Africa with her father and mother, who are both sometimes employed as farmers.
Although Yayra is very young, it sounds like she is a big help in her home. Her description says she works at home, caring for children and helping in the kitchen. She has one sibling.
As a benefit of Compassion's ministry, Yayra gets to attend church activities and Bible class. She is in kindergarten, and her performance is average.
Like most little girls her age, Yayra enjoys playing with dolls. She also likes to play hide-and-seek and participate in group games. I wonder what kind of games she enjoys the most.
Yayra is in desperate need of a sponsor; she has been waiting for 401 days now. Will you end her wait?
Even if you can't afford to sponsor her, please keep this little African princess in your prayers.

Brayden Needs a Family NOW

Update:
Brayden's description has been updated to "Matched". He has the family he desperately needs. Please keep him in your prayers while he waits for his family to get to him.

Brayden's face breaks my heart. He looks as if he has never known happiness. This little guy needs help fast.
Brayden was born in November 2012. His description says he is quiet, and loves listening to music. I bet he's easy to comfort!
It also says,
"You can hear him laugh out loud, especially when playing with toys that make sound. He is a good sleeper, and has begun to have other food with his milk at meal times. As of September 2013, he could raise his head while lying on his stomach and roll over on his own. He could pick up small objects like beans, reach for toys beyond his grasp, and pass a toy from one hand to the other. He would also turn when his name was called, and express “no”. He was able to differentiate between strangers and caretakers, and react appropriately to adults’ facial expressions. Brayden was born with a cleft lip on one side, but no cleft palate, and a heart condition. He also has one eyelid that droops. In a recent update, Brayden has grown a few centimeters in the last year, but has lost weight. He is in need of a family as soon as possible so that he can get the medical care he needs so that he can gain weight and thrive."

Just look at the difference in his pictures; Brayden is not thriving by any stretch of the imagination.
Another description of him says this,

'Brayden is 2 years old, and has a CHD (ASD) which has not been addressed. His cleft lip has not been repaired (he does not have a cleft palate). He has ptosis of his left eyelid (a simple procedure would fix that). He has lost weight, and has not achieved the developmental milestones that he should. Brayden needs help. He needs a thorough medical, and surgery to repair his lip, for starters. He needs therapy and the love and attention of a family who truly want the best for him. Brayden needs a mommy and daddy. His adoption fund on Reece's Rainbow is a bit over $6,400. He needs to come home."
My friend Allie, who advocated for him on her blog, wrote, "He currently has $6,616.26 donated for his adoption. That's a lot of money. And if every person who gave money is praying for him, that's a lot of prayers. Somewhere his family is out there. We just need to find them. "

Please join me in praying for Brayden's forever family to find him. He can't wait much longer.

His file is currently with Hawaii International Child {It should be able to be moved to any other agency.} Contact his current agency here. You can view his Reece's Rainbow account here.

Love in Christ,
